For EFTF 2024 participants, we are delighted to propose a post-conference visit to the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology METAS in Bern-Wabern.
The Federal Institute of Metrology METAS serves as the federal centre of competence for all issues related to measurement and for measuring equipment and measuring procedures.
The Photonics, Time and Frequency laboratory at METAS is in charge of the realization and of the dissemination of the Swiss official time and of all other derived quantities.
The visit at METAS includes a presentation of the Photonics, Time and Frequency laboratories, with emphasis on:
- Time scales realizations and comparisons
- Swiss continuous Primary Frequency Standard, FoCS-2
- Time dissemination
- Dissemination of optical frequencies

METAS will confirm your registration for the visit. Please note that the number of participants is limited to 50, and that the registration will be confirmed on a “first come, first served” basis.
